How To Wake Up Tired Ageing Eyes

By April 11, 2017Uncategorized

This week, Dr Terry is going to discuss the common concerns we hear in clinic about the eye area and how we can treat them.

Around 30 years old is a common age where we see women coming in for eye concerns because the eye area is really the first area that shows the ageing process.

Here are three of the most common concerns that we hear at W1 Wellness and how we treat them…

Dark circles

Ageing around the delicate skin area of the eyes usually start with dark circles. Some people are born with darker circles under the eyes, and one way to check whether is it skin or is it kind of you lost volume under the skin is if you just stretch the skin a little bit. If the darkness improves, that means it’s not really a pigmentation problem, but if the darkness stays it means it’s a skin problem.

To treat dark circles we can combine hyaluronic acid with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma therapy) with your own growth factors. This Eye Regen treatment helps combat dark circles The growth factors from the PRP helps to rejuvenate and rehydrate the delicate eye area naturally whilst improving the skin elasticity and condition.

Loss of volume

When we get a loss of volume around the eye area we start to get the increasing hollowness under the eyes. What we can do is replace the volume that’s lost. This problem can be treated using a specific approved under eye hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. This filler is soft and when injected by experienced medical professional it works wonders to refresh the eyes and rejuvenate the tear trough and banish that hollow tired look. If you’ve lost a lot of volume underneath the eye we can also replace it with fat.

Crows feet

A lot of women have concerns about crows feet, fine lines and wrinkles which can be treated with Botox (Botulinum Toxin wrinkle smoothing injection) injections around the lateral corner of the eyes. A very small dose can also be injected on the corner of the brow by experienced medical experts to create an eyebrow lift. Similarly, a small dose under the eye when done correctly can help to ‘open’ the eye making you look fresh.

The aim at W1 is always to look fresh and natural, to be the best version of you! So it is not always necessary to have a completely smooth look without any lines or wrinkles – our aim is to soften the areas to improve you look, but not completely remove it.

If you’re not sure what treatment is right for you, come to the clinic and we will assess your eyes as part of the wake me up programme to find out what the best treatment is for you.
