What is Straight Up?
Straight up is a safe and effective technique to reshape and augment the nose with no downtime. Filler rhinoplasty, as it is sometimes called, is a non-surgical and non-invasive lunchtime nose job.
Using a small quantity of dermal fillers (hyaluronic acid commonly, non permanent dermal fillers), small droplets of fillers are injected to augment or straighten up the nose. Injections can be along the lower end of glabella, bridge of the nose, the dorsum of the nose, the tip of the nose and the columella.
Why Straight Up?
This is particularly suitable for patients with a slight bump or small hump in their noses, saddle nose, small flat nose or wanting achieve a straighter look or a sharper nose. Also sometimes miscalled a mini-rhinoplasty, the non-surgical nose job should not be confused with the actual surgical rhinoplasty.
Many patients are afraid of the possible risks and complications of a surgical rhinoplasty, and so they want to consider a non-surgical or medical rhinoplasty first. It is important to remember that volume is being added to the nose to create an appearance or illusion of a straighter, sharper or smaller nose. Some patients may like to try the dermal fillers option before they have surgery to mimic the possible outcome.
